Statement:
At Jim Hatheway Ford, we understand the importance of our customers’ privacy and the protection of their personal information. All members of the Jim Hatheway Ford Team have always placed the highest value upon ensuring the confidentiality of customer information. The passage of the Federal Government’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, effective January 1, 2004, will only reaffirm our ongoing commitment to ensuring the personal information, which we obtain from, and about our customers, is accurate and remains confidential and private.

Personal Information:
Personal information is any information about you except your name, business title, business address, business e-mail address, and business telephone number or business facsimile number. It also does not include your home address and telephone number if these are published in a telephone or other directory.

Collection of Personal Information:
We may collect some or all of the following personal information, but not limited to only these listed during the course of our business transactions.

• Your name, address,e-mail address and facsimile number
• Your occupapation/length of time in business
• Information about your existing vehicle, your driving habits, vehicle service history and any trade in
• Your drivers licence number
• The name of your insurance company and agent, details of your coverage, and policy number
• Similar information about other members of your family
• Your social insurance number and/or the social insurance number of other members of your family ****
• Financial and credit information about you and/or other members of your family (specific information is set out in the application for credit forms)
• The principle amount of your loan, interest and repayment schedule
• Health information if your are applying for life, health, disability or accident insurance and detail of that insurance
• Commercial References if applying for credit accounts

**** Note: Provision of your Social Insurance Number is optional. However, you should be aware that most Credit Reporting Agencies use the Social Insurance Number as a unique identifier to ensure proper identification when conducting credit reviews and preparing credit reports. If you do not wish to provide your Social Insurance Number, our ability to obtain a timely and accurate credit report may be affected.

Protection of Personal Information:
Jim Hatheway Ford is committed to and our information systems are designed to protect the confidentiality of our relationship with you. Only authorized employees have physical access to certain information and appropriate controls are in place to ensure security.

We will only collect, use and disclose personal information for purposes which would be considered reasonable for business transactions: to obtain a license for your vehicle, to set up an account, to obtain a credit report if you are financing or leasing your vehicle, to obtain financing for your vehicle, to provide you with updates and information regarding products and services that we have to offer and which we think will be of interest to you. We are responsible for the personal information under our control and we have designated a Privacy Officer, our company Controller, who is responsible for our compliance with this policy and with the privacy legislation.
